Pune, June 4: A detailed breakdown of the family’s monthly expenses of a Pune woman has been shared on her Instagram account and has gone viral. The woman has revealed that despite both spouses working, cooking most meals at home and using an electric vehicle, her family of three spends around ₹ 2.2 lakh every month.
The discussion has highlighted the cost of living in urban India. According to the woman, the biggest expense is a home loan EMI of ₹ 1.1 lakh for a house that is currently under construction. Along with this, the family also pays 28,000 in monthly rent for their current residence while waiting for the home to be completed.
Other regular expenses include ₹20,000 for groceries, ₹15,000 for dining out, ₹6,000 for electricity, ₹500 for internet services and around ₹3,000 for food delivery through online platforms. The family also sets aside ₹10,000 for shopping and spends approximately ₹1,800 on household help.
One of the most discussed expenses was the couple’s child’s daycare fee, which costs ₹30,000 per month. The woman explained that the amount includes nursery fees and is common in areas such as Viman Nagar and Kalyani Nagar. She also noted that rent in premium Pune neighbourhoods can be significantly higher than many people assume.
