Pune : Fatal Accident on Daund-Patas Road Triggers Villagers’ Fury, Luxury Car Set Ablaze

A heartbreaking incident unfolded on the Daund-Patas road near Virobawadi, Pune, as a high-speed collision between a car and a two-wheeler claimed the life of the two-wheeler rider. In a distressing turn of events, enraged villagers vented their anger by setting the involved a luxury car on fire.

The victim has been identified as Nehal Appasaheb Gawde, a 26-year-old resident of Patas-Virobawadi in Pune’s Daund taluka. Initial information suggests that Gawde was returning home on his two-wheeler after seeking blessings from the revered village deity, Shri Biroba Dev. Tragedy struck when a speeding car collided with Gawde’s two-wheeler while traveling from Patas towards Daund.

Suffering severe head injuries, Gawde tragically lost his life at the accident site. The car’s driver sustained minor injuries, and one of the occupants also suffered injuries. Fuelled by a mixture of anger and grief, the villagers resorted to setting the luxury car ablaze, reflecting their profound outrage over the loss of life within their community. As a result, traffic on the Ashtavinayak route between Daund and Patas experienced temporary disruptions.
