The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has informed that in a raid at Tony Da Dhaba, Pashan Service Road, Pashan in Pune, after chasing the vehicle MH 46 AR 4973, prohibited stock worth Rs 47 lakh 22 thousand 300 and one vehicle was seized.

As per further information, the raid was carried out based on confidential information received from the Food and Drug Administration’s Ministerial Office. In this raid, 1 vehicle has been seized and an FIR has been lodged against 3 people, along with the driver of the vehicle, at Chatushrungi police station.

From the point of view of public interest and public health, production, distribution, transportation and sale of tobacco products like gutka, pan masala, scented tobacco, scented betel nuts etc has been banned in the state since 1 year.

AG Bhujbal, Joint Commissioner (Food), FDA Pune, has appealed to everyone that if there is any information about the sale of banned Gutka, Pan Masala, prohibited tobacco and tobacco related products, etc, citizens should contact the Food and Drug Administration’s toll – toll free number 1800222365.
