Pune Fire Brigade Rescues 254 Citizens Amidst Heavy Rainfall
From yesterday morning (24/07/2024) at 7:00 AM until today (25/07/2024) evening at 5:00 PM, the Fire Brigade Control Room has received several alerts.
So far, the fire brigade has successfully rescued and relocated approximately 254 citizens to safer places. Various equipment such as boats, ropes, life jackets, and life rings were used. Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potphode himself, along with twenty fire officers and around two hundred firemen, have been actively working since last night.
Incidents reported:
- – Trees fallen: 78
- – House/wall collapses: 4 (Wall collapse in Bhavani Peth, Koregaon Park, near Burning Ghat, pitfall in Vadgaon Budruk, Sunday Peth, Pasodya Vitthoba Temple)
Waterlogged areas: 25
- – (Warje, Swami Vivekanand Society and Futura Society in Shivane, Sadguru Society in Sinhagad Road, Sarita Nagari, Ekta Nagari, and three other societies near river paths, Rajput Brick Kiln, Ganjpeth, Chandtara Chowk in Shivajinagar, Karvenagar, Pulachi Wadi, Patil Estate, and other areas).
Currently, fire brigade officers and personnel are actively working and providing assistance to citizens trapped in waterlogged areas, relocating them to safer locations.
