Quick ladder operation and entry through balcony; child brought to safety within 15 minutes

Pimpri, December 11, 2025: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s (PCMC) Fire Department carried out an effective rescue operation on Tuesday evening after a three-year-old boy was found trapped alone inside a locked third-floor flat in a residential society in Nigdi Pradhikaran. The timely response of the fire personnel ensured the child was safely reunited with his family.

The incident occurred in Babar Heritage Society, where residents noticed that the young child had been accidentally locked inside the flat. Despite several attempts to help, the door—secured from inside—could not be opened. Residents then alerted the PCMC Fire Station at Pradhikaran, prompting immediate deployment of a rescue team.

After a quick assessment, the fire personnel used an extension ladder to reach the third-floor balcony. The team cut open the safety net, entered the flat from the balcony, and rescued the child unharmed. The operation was completed in just 15 minutes.
