Pune, January 27, 2026: A disturbing video showing a pan shop vendor being assaulted and his shop vandalised by a group of men in Pune’s Magarpatta area has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage.
The footage, reportedly recorded on January 24, shows seven to eight men confronting the shopkeeper, physically attacking him, damaging the shop structure and issuing verbal threats. In the video, the vendor is seen attempting to shield himself as the attackers continue the assault and create chaos at the spot.
While the visuals have circulated widely online, the exact motive behind the attack remains unclear. Social media users have condemned the incident and are calling for strict action against those involved, citing concerns over public safety and law and order.
Police sources said they are aware of the video and are verifying details, including the identities of the attackers, with the help of CCTV footage from the area.
