Pune: Hadapsar Flyover Set For Major Repairs After Four Years, Work To Begin In Two Months
Pune, December 8, 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is preparing to carry out extensive repairs on the Hadapsar flyover after a gap of more than four years. The civic body plans to begin the work in the next two months, focusing on replacing nine expansion joints and 268 bearings to improve the strength and stability of the decades-old structure.
The 20-year-old flyover, built by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) and maintained by the PMC, had undergone partial repairs in 2022. However, a recent assessment by structural auditors highlighted the need for comprehensive restoration. According to officials, the project is expected to cost around ₹5 crore, and the tendering process to appoint a specialist agency is already underway.
The flyover plays a critical role in managing heavy traffic on Solapur Road and providing a seamless connection toward Saswad Road. Its design helps vehicles avoid long delays at the busy Hadapsar Chowk, making it one of the city’s most vital transport links.
PMC officials said the upcoming repairs will help prevent structural cracks and ensure smoother travel once the work is completed. A coordinated traffic management plan will be prepared with the Pune Traffic Police to minimise disruptions during the repair period.
Motorists recall significant congestion during the 2022 repair phase and have urged authorities to plan more efficiently this time to avoid repeat delays across Hadapsar and neighbouring areas.
