Pune: Heavy Police Deployment In Kondhwa After Stone-Pelting Incident Between Two Groups
Pune, May 19, 2026: Tension briefly prevailed in Pune’s Kondhwa area after a dispute between two groups allegedly escalated into stone pelting, prompting heavy police deployment in the locality last mid night.
According to preliminary information, the incident reportedly began with a minor argument that later turned into a verbal altercation and unrest, leading to crowd gathering in the area.
Following the incident, security was tightened near Kondhwa Police Station and nearby localities to maintain law and order.
Pune Police officials rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Police authorities also appealed to citizens not to believe or circulate rumours and unverified social media messages related to the incident.
Officials stated that the situation is currently peaceful and under control, while further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the clash and identify those involved.
