Pune, April 2, 2026: Unseasonal rain continued to lash Pune for the third consecutive day, bringing sudden relief from the summer heat but causing widespread disruption across the city.

Heavy showers in areas such as Kharadi, Chandan Nagar, and nearby suburbs led to severe waterlogging within just 15–20 minutes. Several roads were submerged, with water levels rising up to knee height in some locations, forcing residents to wade through flooded streets.

The sudden rainfall created difficulties for office-goers returning home, as many had to navigate through waterlogged roads. Farmers and daily commuters were also caught off guard by the unexpected weather conditions.

While the rain brought temporary relief from the intense afternoon heat, it also dampened festive spirits on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. Preparations at several temples in the city were affected, with water entering temple premises and festival mandaps, causing inconvenience to devotees.

Authorities have advised citizens to remain cautious as intermittent showers are likely to continue, potentially leading to further waterlogging in low-lying areas.
