Pune: Heavy rainfall causes trees to fall in 10 locations

Pune and its surrounding areas are forecasted to witness heavy rainfall and thunderstorms for the next four days, as indicated by meteorological authorities

The city, along with its suburbs, experienced heavy rainfall on Thursday, resulting in trees falling at various locations. Due to the downpour in the afternoon, 10 trees were uprooted across the city, leading to significant damage to vehicles in many areas. The fallen trees obstructed traffic flow on several roads, causing congestion. Fire department personnel swiftly responded to clear the trees and branches from the roadsides. Subsequently, traffic resumed smoothly. Meanwhile, Pune and its surrounding areas are forecasted to witness heavy rainfall and thunderstorms for the next four days, as indicated by meteorological authorities.

Instances of trees falling were reported in Kondhwa, Dhayari, Bhavani Peth, Erandwane, Yerwada, Lohiya Nagar, Kothrud, Swargate and Swargate Police Line.
