Pune : Heritage walk organized near Hutatma Smarak on August 13

Pune: A heritage walk has been organized near the Hutatma Smarak at 8.30 am on Sunday (August 13) to pay homage to the work of the revolutionaries.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Umesh Pote, manager of the heritage walk said, “ The event is organized in association with BVG India Limited, Club Heritage Pune and the Department of History of H V Desai College.”

He also informed that the Faraskhana police post area is an important historical landmark of the pre-British era. People joining the walk will come to know about the bravery of the Chapekar brothers, the work of Martyr Karnik, the Capitol bombing case etc. Hence, all of these and much more will be brought to light on this occasion. Information about Bhidewada, the first school started by Mahatma Phule and Savitribai Phule will also be given.

Pote further said that there are no registration fees for this. Anybody can join the heritage walk. However, due to the lack of parking spaces, the enthusiasts should park their vehicles at their own convenience and responsibility. He has urged all Punekars to join this heritage walk at Hutatma Smarak on August 13 at 8:30 am.
