Pune: Favourable rainfall conditions are expected in the state starting from August 13. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas of the Konkan region and also in isolated areas of Vidarbha.

Starting from August 15, there will be widespread rainfall, and the state will receive more rainfall in a shorter period of time. However, in the last week of July, it rained in most places. As August began, the rainfall decreased.

According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reports, the state experienced rainfall in isolated areas until August 4. However, from August 4 to August 9, most parts of the state have not received rainfall. According to the IMD, the state is currently experiencing less rainfall due to the influence of El Nino.

Many districts in Marathwada have received less rainfall than expected. Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, Raigad, and Nanded districts have received good rainfall. But Satara, Sangli, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Beed, Jalna, Hingoli, Akola, and Jalgaon districts are still waiting for rain. The IMD has predicted a return of rainfall to the state after August 20.

The IMD has issued a four-week forecast for the monsoon in the country. For the first two weeks, many places will receive below-average rainfall. Normal rainfall will be expected in the third and fourth weeks. The forecast conditions are from August 11 to September 7.
