Pune Horror: Husband Allegedly Throws Acid On Wife's Private Parts, Locks Her Inside House For 15 Days
Police in Pune’s Uruli Kanchan area have registered a serious case after a woman alleged that her husband brutally assaulted her, poured acid on her private parts over suspicion of her character, and confined her inside the house for over two weeks.
A shocking case of alleged domestic violence and acid attack has surfaced from Uruli Kanchan in Pune district, triggering outrage in the area.
According to police information, the incident took place on April 20, 2026, in Uruli Kanchan. The accused allegedly assaulted his 24-year-old wife after suspecting her character and repeatedly accusing her of having extramarital relations.
Reports stated that the husband allegedly beat the woman mercilessly with kicks and punches while also taunting her for not giving birth to a son. During the assault, he allegedly threatened to burn her alive.
Police said the accused later brought a bottle containing acid used for toilet cleaning from the bathroom and allegedly poured it on the woman’s private parts. The victim reportedly screamed in pain and attempted to run outside for help, but the accused allegedly locked the door from inside and assaulted her again.
The woman further claimed that when neighbours gathered after hearing her cries, the accused threatened her with death if she informed anyone about the incident. He allegedly did not take her to a hospital despite her serious condition and instead kept her confined inside the house for nearly 15 days.
According to the complaint, the victim managed to leave the house only after the accused went to work. She later reached her maternal home along with her two daughters and narrated the entire incident to relatives, following which a complaint was lodged at Uruli Kanchan Police Station.
Police rushed the woman for medical examination and treatment at Sassoon Hospital in Pune. A case has now been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges related to assault, causing grievous injuries and criminal intimidation.
Officials said further investigation is underway under the supervision of local police authorities.
The incident has once again raised serious concerns over domestic violence and abuse against women, with locals demanding strict action against the accused.
