Pune Horror! Man Allegedly Inserts Haldi-Kumkum Smeared Lemon Into Wife’s Private Parts After Forcing Sex Over Alimony Row

In a deeply disturbing case reported from Vishalnagar in Pune’s Pimple Nilakh area, a man has been accused of sexually and physically assaulting his estranged wife during a visit to his residence in 2023. The incident, involving elements of alleged black magic, came to light after the woman filed a formal complaint at the Sangvi Police Station on April 11, 2025.
According to the 36-year-old complainant, who has been living separately from her husband due to ongoing marital issues, she had gone to collect school-related items for their children when the incident occurred. The couple has been married since 2004 and share two children.
As per the complaint, the woman was allegedly threatened at knifepoint and coerced into sexual activity by her husband, who was reportedly intoxicated at the time. The situation escalated when he allegedly applied turmeric (haldi) and vermilion (kumkum) to lemon slices and forcibly inserted them into her private parts, claiming to have performed a ritual to harm her mentally. He also threatened to kill her if she revealed the assault to anyone.
The survivor initially kept the incident to herself out of fear but later confided in her mother and aunt. With their support and the help of social activist Deepak Kamble, she approached the police to seek justice.

Senior Police Inspector Mahesh Bansode of Sangvi Police Station stated that the case has been registered based on the woman’s account. “Though the charges fall under sections punishable with less than seven years of imprisonment, a thorough investigation is underway, led by a female officer,” he said.
The police have initiated legal proceedings, and further investigation is in progress.
