Pune : Incomplete road work in Kharadi irks citizens; demand immediate action from PMC
Residents of Kharadi are troubled by the incomplete road works at the road at D P farms, leading to EON IT Park & various other roads in Kharadi.
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Akhil Agarwal, a resident of Kharadi said, “In the entire Kharadi stretch, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is just digging up roads. It’s been more than a year. They are just digging up roads & leaving them taking no further action. The work is very slow, leading to traffic chaos and other potential hazards. There is also a huge risk for pedestrians to walk because now, the entire two-way roads, due to digging, have been converted into one-way stretches. The roads are dug up and just left like that. This issue is evident in the entire Kharadi area.”
As per further information from the X handle of GQT_CHS, “We r
seeing no progress post the cement road is constructed on the right lane. This is on DP Farms road which opens at EON IT Park, Kharadi & most of Kharadi roads. Pedestrians are forced to walk through accumulated water, stones etc. Pl share the target date to complete the work.”
Deepak Patil, Chairman, Kharadi Housing Welfare Association said, “It’s been 3 to 4 months since roads were dug up. However, the work is just left half-baked. The road work near only 2 residential societies is done on the DP Farms & EON IT Park stretch. Who knows when the entire stretch will be done? City buses, four-wheelers etc travel on the current one-way stretches due to the roads just dug up & left as they are. From where will the pedestrians walk? The pedestrians are forced to walk on such dug-up roads with rain water accumulated on them which is also not removed. Really don’t know what kind of work the PMC is doing.”
