Pune : Irani Cafe Owner Faces Harassment Charges as Wife Files Case at Wanowrie Police Station

Pune: Sayyed Mohammad Reza Ahmad Dekhanpur, the proprietor of a popular Irani Cafe, was arrested by the Wanowrie police following serious allegations of mental and physical harassment made against him by his wife.
According to the complaint filed by his 36-year-old wife, Dekhanpur demanded a staggering sum of Rs 9 crore in exchange for granting her custody of their son. Acting promptly, the Wanowrie police arrested Dekhanpur on Monday night.
Senior Police Inspector Bhausaheb Patare of the Wanowrie police station said, “As per a complaint filed by his wife we have taken him into custody and further investigation is going on.”
In her complaint, the woman alleged that the accused physically and mentally abused her and beat her several times. Last month, the victim received a notice from the family court, revealing that the accused had filed a custody petition for their son. Allegedly, Dekhanpur demanded a hefty Rs 9 crore as a bribe to withdraw the petition, prompting the wife to seek the assistance of her father in filing a complaint with the Wanowrie police.
According to police, the accused has been charged under 498 (A), 323, 504, 506, 107, and 112 sections of the IPC.
