Pune, November 10, 2025: The Kalyani Nagar–Vadgaon Sheri Festival 2025 celebrated Maharashtra’s rich cultural heritage and civic pride under the theme “Garja Ha Maharashtra, Maharashtrachi Lokdhara.” Organized by Shilpa Sanjay Galande and Adv. Shantanu Sanjay Galande at Ramchandra Sabhagruha, Vadgaonsheri, the event showcased traditional performances, local artisans, and the prestigious Samajbhushan Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to society.

Among the evening’s highlights was the presentation of the Samajbhushan Award to Monica Sharma from Kalyani Nagar by MLA Bapu Pathare. The award recognized her exceptional civic leadership, teamwork, and sustained efforts toward improving urban governance and community well-being.

For over three years, Monica and her dedicated team have been addressing key civic challenges, including noise pollution, illegal pubs, drainage repairs, parking violations, and air quality concerns. Collaborating with authorities such as PMC, Police, Excise, MPCB, and local representatives, they have driven accountability and action across multiple civic domains.

The group has been instrumental in raising awareness about noise-related health hazards caused by modified silencers, loudspeakers, and late-night events. Their campaigns have led to stronger enforcement of regulations and reduced disturbances from nightlife zones, setting an example for responsible urban living.

Monica and her team have also built alliances with resident groups in Baner, Koregaon Park, Viman Nagar, and Balewadi, fostering a citywide movement for civic responsibility and community action.

Expressing gratitude, Monica Sharma said, “This recognition is a collective honour. What began as a small citizen movement has become a reminder that silence, too, deserves to be protected. Every decibel we reduce restores peace to our homes and hearts.”

The festival concluded with vibrant cultural performances and applause for the awardees, reflecting the spirit of unity and civic pride that defines “Garja Ha Maharashtra.”
