Pune: Kalyani Nagar Residents Honour Yerawada Traffic Officer For Tackling Illegal Parking Woes
Pune, May 20, 2026: Given the presence of several IT companies in the D-Mart lane of Kalyani Nagar, the issue of long-standing parked vehicles in no-parking zones had become a major concern, especially during peak office hours. This led to severe traffic congestion, daily delays, and inconvenience for commuters and residents alike.
In a positive step towards resolving this, residents of Kalyani Nagar felicitated Traffic Incharge Sangeeta Jadhav, Yerawada Traffic Division, for her prompt and effective action in addressing the persistent traffic issues on D-Mart Road.

For a long time, residents had been facing challenges due to vehicles parked for extended hours, including those belonging to travelers, cabs, taxis, and others many of which remained stationed even during late-night hours. This resulted in continuous traffic obstruction, bottlenecks, and safety concerns.
Before taking strict action, public announcements and warnings were issued, giving vehicle owners an opportunity to comply. Despite this, when violations continued, firm enforcement action was undertaken, which led to visible improvement on the ground.
Following consistent complaints and coordination by residents, Sangeeta Jadhav Madam’s proactive approach resulted in better regulation and significant relief to the community.
Key Improvements Observed:
1. Reduction in illegal parking in no-parking zones
2. Smoother traffic movement during peak hours
3. Better regulation of cabs, taxis, and night-time parking
4. Increased monitoring and enforcement in the area
Beyond enforcement, Sangeeta Jadhav Madam has actively participated in awareness drives, engaging with citizens to promote responsible parking and traffic discipline. Her approach reflects a balanced combination of strict action and community engagement.
Strengthening Community-Police Relations:
This felicitation was aimed at appreciating her service and further strengthening the bond between the community and the police force. It demonstrates how collaboration, mutual respect, and timely response can lead to effective solutions to civic issues.
Residents expressed that such initiatives create positivity around complaints being addressed, encouraging more citizens to come forward and engage constructively with authorities.
A Model for Civic Collaboration:
The initiative stands as a strong example of how active citizen participation combined with responsive policing can significantly improve neighborhood conditions. It reinforces the importance of community-police partnership in ensuring safety, discipline, and a better quality of life.
“The recent action has shown that when citizens raise issues constructively and authorities respond promptly, real change is possible. For a long time, traffic congestion due to vehicles parked for extended hours was a daily challenge. Now, there is visible improvement in movement and discipline. We appreciate the efforts taken by the traffic police, especially the approachable nature and responsiveness shown. At the same time, it is equally important for citizens to follow rules responsibly. Sustainable change will only happen when both authorities and citizens work together consistently,” said Monica S, Kalyani nagar resident.
“We have been receiving good support from the Traffic department since Sangeeta Jadhav ma’am has gotten involved. This area has a lot of traffic issues due to so many corporate offices in the area. After we raised the issues Jadhav got involved and made sure that law breakers were taken to task and illegal parkings and vehicles stopping and blocking the roads has reduced. We will continue to need this kind ofdelegentlyspecially during the monsoon season as well,” informed Yasmin C, a Kalyani nagar resident.
“We the residents of Kalyani nagar suffer traffic problems every day be it speeding vehicle, wrong side driving or for that matter parking vehicles on the road side , which makes walking on the footpath a nightmare. For this formal complain was lodged with traffic police. We got quick response from traffic incharge Sangeeta Jadhav mam. We had the police vehicles doing the rounds and warning the drivers to remove their vehicles or they will be fined.those who didn’t remove were fined on the second round. We’re proud of such officers who delegently do their duties,” stated Rajeshwari Lakhani, Kalyani nagar resident.
