Pune: Kondhwa Police Rescue Minor Children From Forced Begging And Child Labour At Lulla Nagar Chowk
Pune | March 1, 2026 : Acting on complaints from local citizens, the Kondhwa Police Station carried out a rescue operation at Lulla Nagar Chowk after reports that parents were forcing their minor children into begging and labour for financial gain.
Police officials and staff immediately visited the location, took the children into protective custody, and conducted their medical examinations.
Following due procedure, a detailed report was submitted to the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) for further action.

As per the directions of the CWC, the rescued children have been placed in safe care at SOFOSH (Society of Friends of Sassoon Hospital), ensuring their protection, rehabilitation, and welfare.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Senior Police Inspector Kumar Ghadge, Kondhwa Police Station, Pune.
