Pune: Kondhwa Residents Pay Emotional Tribute To Late Ajit Pawar; Citizens Across Communities Unite In Remembrance
Pune, February 20, 2026: Kondhwa witnessed an emotionally charged condolence meeting as party workers, social activists, and local residents came together to remember the late former Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Ajitdada Pawar. The atmosphere turned deeply emotional as memories of “Dada” — remembered as a people’s leader, administrator, and committed social worker — were shared, leaving many in tears.
People from all communities — Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians — united to offer heartfelt tributes, reflecting the wide social impact and respect he commanded across religions and political boundaries. The entire condolence gathering became silent and reflective, echoing with emotional chants of remembrance and loss.
The condolence meeting was organised at Kondhwa Khurd, NIBM area, by former corporator Nanda Lonkar and Narayan Lonkar. A large number of citizens from different political parties and social groups attended the programme, highlighting the collective grief and respect for the late leader.
Prominent attendees included former MLA Mahadev Babar, corporator Gafur Pathan, Nivrutti Bandal, corporator Kalinda Punde, Pravin Patil, former Education Committee Deputy Director Suman Shinde, Sanjay Lonkar, Haibatrao Nimbalkar, Rohan Gaikwad, H.B.P. Sunil Maharaj Kamthe, Adv. Mahesh Punde, Sachin Kapre, Omkar Jagtap, Amar Gavhane, Sandeep Jagtap, Zoyab Kazi, Bapu Mulani, Prem Darekar, Rahul Lonkar, Bholasing Arora, Prasad Chougule, along with a large number of local residents.
Addressing the gathering, Nanda Lonkar made an emotional appeal, stating that she would preserve Dada’s values, principles, and ideology throughout her life and continue his legacy of selfless public service. Her emotional words moved the entire gathering, with many attendees unable to hold back their tears.
