Pune: Kumar Park Infinia Society From Phursungi Celebrates Arrival Of Long-Awaited Municipal Water Supply After Five Years Of Struggle
In a landmark development, the Kumar Park Infinia Society’s Phase 3B located in Phursungi has finally received its long-awaited municipal water supply connection, five years after being included in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) jurisdiction. This major achievement marks the end of a prolonged period of hardship for residents who have been bearing the double burden of paying property and water taxes to PMC while also incurring additional monthly expenses of over Rs 2.5 lakh for private water tankers.
To celebrate this significant milestone, the society hosted a “JALPUJAN” ceremony, officiated by Ex-Corporator Ganesh Dhore and Amit Sureshappa Harpale. During the event, resident Sagar Magdum expressed the collective joy through a heartfelt poem, emphasizing the value of every drop of water and the relief brought by the new supply:
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including Phase 3B Chairman Sampat Shinde, Phase 4A Chairman Amol Suryavanshi, Phase 3A Chairman Ripusudan Mandloi, and other notable members like Pawan Shinde, Nishikant Mokashi, Akshay Sonawane, Vitthal Tilekar, Vikas Shinde, and Vipin Kumar.
Nishikant Mokashi, a resident of Kumar Park Infinia Society, shared his relief and happiness with Pune Pulse: “We have five phases in our township, and due to the lack of a municipal water supply, we had to rely on private water tankers for our daily needs. For the past five years, each household has spent an average of Rs 2.5 lakh per year on private water sources. We are incredibly happy to finally receive the water supply from PMC.”
This new water connection brings immense relief and convenience to the residents, signaling the end of a long period of inconvenience and marking a new chapter of ease and accessibility in the Kumar Park Infinia Society. The successful completion of this project stands as a testament to the perseverance and efforts of the community, promising a future of enhanced living standards and better municipal services.
