In the wake of a security breach at the Parliament in Delhi on Wednesday, the nation finds itself in upheaval. During the session, two youths leaped from the audience gallery onto the benches where MPs were seated, causing chaos in the Lok Sabha.

This incident has raised significant concerns about the overall security of the Parliament. Investigations reveal that one of the individuals involved hails from Maharashtra, identified as Amol Dhanraj Shinde, a resident of Chachur district in Latur.

Amol, who had left home under the pretext of attending a police recruitment event, is part of a group of six youths attempting the intrusion, driven by the challenges of unemployment. Delhi Police have apprehended Amol Shinde, and an ongoing investigation is underway. Concurrently, Maharashtra-based lawyer Asim Sarode has pledged legal assistance to Amol.

Sarode elucidates the rationale behind providing legal aid to Amol Shinde, who breached the Parliament premises. In a statement, he asserts that while Amol’s Bhagat Singh-style protest may be incongruent with democratic norms, it is crucial to understand the underlying issue of unemployment that he sought to highlight.

Sarode advocates for a constructive approach, emphasizing that if Amol’s intent was not to harm anyone but to draw attention to unemployment, then punitive measures should be geared towards awareness rather than criminalization.

In his social media post, Sarode cites the words of Dhananjay RamKrishna Shinde, stating, “Amol Shinde, 25, from Latur entered Parliament because he is unemployed. He needs employment. He is not a terrorist or a criminal but he is against the insensitive policy process at the state as well as at the centre.”

Sarode criticizes MPs for their failure to address the issue of unemployment, asserting that resorting to violence against a desperate, unemployed youth is a misguided approach. The lawyer questions the ignorance of MPs who perpetuate brutality against the vulnerable and unemployed, emphasizing the need for a more compassionate and effective policy response.
