Pune News : PMC draws plan to decongest Juna Bazaar area, plans to install barricades 

The Pune Municipal Corporation will shortly set up barricades and also reorganise the hawkers at Juna Bazaar chowk, ensuring more space for commuters, further resolving the congestion on the road.

The matter was taken in the meeting held on Wednesday this week, followed by a site visit by the PMC officials. The civic officials stated that though the hawkers were allotted a dedicated space, they were encroaching upon the road.

Vikas Dhakne, additional commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation said, “The encroachment caused by the hawkers is leading to congestion. PMC will earmark the space again and also put up barricades in the area.”

Juna Bazaar chowk is the center point for commuters destined to go to Pune Camp, RTO, Bund Garden, Railway station, Sassoon hospital.

Juna Bazaar is one of the oldest markets of Pune city having 216 registered and 100 unregistered shops.
