Pune : PMC takes action against unauthorized construction at Elrow Pub in Kalyani Nagar; demolishes it 

Pune, 14 December 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) executed a demolition drive today, wherein the unauthorized construction of  14,000 square feet at Elrow pub in Kalyani Nagar was razed.

Notice was issued to the establishment on August 2,2022 under Section 53 of the MRTP Act 1966, wherein the civic body had pointed out the unauthorized construction constructed on the terrace area of Hotel Elrow. Despite the notice, the restaurant failed to respond, prompting the demolition action today. 

The operation was led by Executive Engineer Ajit Surve and supported by Inspector Vishnu Taurashree, Pankaj Donde, and Yogesh Gurav, alongwith 6 gas cutters, 12 workers, and 8 Maharashtra Security Force personnel, along with additional police force. 

This is the second instance of action at the same location, under Section 43 of the MRTP Act 1966.
