Pune Lok Adalat: 70 Cases Resolved, ₹30,000+ Collected In Penalties
Pune, May 10, 2025 — In a special Lok Adalat session held at the Lashkar Court, multiple criminal and regulatory cases filed by Hadapsar, Fursungi, and Mundhwa police stations were disposed of, resulting in monetary penalties across several offences.
Hadapsar Police Station:
A total of 27 cases were resolved, many of which were related to violations under the Indian Penal Code and COVID-19 regulations.
- 19 accused accepted guilt and were fined amounts ranging from ₹1,000 to ₹2,800.
- A total fine of ₹12,600 was collected.
- Some cases were withdrawn under CRPC Section 320(8).
Fursungi Police Station:
- One case under BNS 223 resulted in a fine of ₹2,000.
- 27 cases under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) resulted in fines totaling ₹5,400.
- 2 cases under the Mumbai Police Act led to fines of ₹2,000.
- Total fines collected: ₹9,400.
Mundhwa Police Station:
- 6 cases under BNS 281 resulted in ₹1,100 fine each, with 1-day simple imprisonment in case of non-payment.
- 2 cases under BNS 287 attracted fines of ₹1,800 each, with a provision for 15 days of simple imprisonment on default.
- 3 cases under COTPA led to fines totaling ₹600.
- 9 cases under the Mumbai Police Act led to ₹9,000 in fines.
- Total fines collected: ₹19,200.
