Pune: Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Abducting, Raping Minor Girl
A Special Court has sentenced Amol Krishna Pandey, 27, to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for abducting and raping a minor girl who was his karate student. Pandey, a resident of Bhigwan, Indapur, lured the girl into marriage and took her to Vairag where he assaulted her.
The court found Pandey guilty despite his claims that the girl came voluntarily. However, as the girl is a minor, her consent is not legally valid.
Special Public Prosecutor Sandeep Ohol presented strong evidence, including testimony from the victim and a medical officer. The judge ordered the fine imposed on Pandey to be paid to the victim and recommended additional compensation from the District Legal Service Committee.
This verdict sends a strong message against child abuse and exploitation. If you or someone you know needs support, there are resources available. For more information on support services or to stay updated on similar cases, consider searching online.
