Pune Man Who Faked Police Job to Attract Marriage Proposals Faces Case for Impersonation
In Pune, a 26-year-old vegetable seller from Narhe Road, identified as Rishikesh Raju Jadhav, has landed in legal trouble after falsely portraying himself as a police officer in an attempt to improve his marriage prospects.
According to officials, Jadhav went to the extent of putting up posters and flex banners across different parts of the city, presenting himself as a member of the police force. He also circulated photographs of himself dressed in a police uniform and used them as his WhatsApp status, all with the intention of creating a strong impression on potential brides and their families.
Police said the man, who is actually a vegetable seller by profession, resorted to this deception out of frustration over his inability to find a match. His fabricated identity was aimed at appearing more eligible for marriage.
Authorities have now registered a case against him for impersonating a public servant. Speaking about the incident, police official Sambhaji Kadam stated that the accused admitted he had created the false identity because he was struggling to get married and wanted to present himself as someone with a stable government job.
The matter came to light during a routine drive conducted by the police against illegal banners and posters in the city. While removing unauthorized displays, officials noticed the suspicious posters claiming his association with the police department. Further investigation revealed that he had never been selected for the force and had misled people with false claims.
What began as an attempt to build an impressive public image has now resulted in legal consequences for Jadhav, with police action initiated under charges of impersonation.
