Pune : Massive fire breaks out at wooden products godown in Timber market
In an unfortunate incident today morning at 4.14 AM at 259, Bhavani peth, Timber market, Pune fire broke out at a wooden products godown.
The Pune Fire Brigade personnel averted a major mishap by removing 10 gas cylinders from the area. If these cylinders were not removed the fire would have spread to nearby school and residential premises. The fire caused damages to four nearby houses. Chief Fire Officer Devendra Potfode and other 20 officials and 100 jawans were involved in dousing the fire.
A total of 30 Fire tenders from PMC, PCB, PMRDA and Pimpri Chinchwad were involved in extinguishing the fire. Many private water tankers were also involved in dousing the fire.
The firemen are continuously working to extinguish the fire. There are no reports of injury. The exact cause of the fire is unknown. There are no reports of injury.
