Pune, July 5, 2026: Alleging continued mismanagement by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Shiv Sena Pune City Chief Pramod Nana Bhangire has demanded immediate action against officials following a water pipeline burst at Gokul Nagar Chowk that reportedly resulted in the wastage of lakhs of litres of water.

Bhangire said the incident is the latest in a series of administrative lapses by the civic body during the monsoon. He pointed out that previous incidents, including watering trees with tankers during heavy rainfall and the collapse of a newly asphalted road, had already raised serious concerns over PMC’s planning and execution.

Criticising the civic administration, Bhangire said it is unacceptable for such large-scale water wastage to occur when residents are receiving water supply on alternate days. He termed the incident an example of the PMC’s irresponsible functioning and urged the authorities to take strict action against the officials and engineers responsible.
