Pune, February 12, 2026: Mayor Manjusha Deepak Nagpure visited Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital to meet Rameshwar Avtikar, a young man who was critically injured in a road accident at Karve Nagar. The incident occurred near Meghraj Society, where tree trimming work was underway and a thick rope had been tied across the road without adequate safety arrangements, leading to a serious mishap involving two two-wheeler riders.
According to reports, the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon when a motorcycle carrying two persons became entangled in the rope that had been installed to facilitate the cutting of overgrown tree branches. The rider, Rameshwar Avtikar, sustained severe injuries to his neck and spine and was immediately rushed to Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital for emergency treatment.
