Pune | March 2, 2026: Passenger services of Pune Metro will remain suspended during the morning hours on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in view of the Dhulivandan (Rang Panchami) festival celebrations. Metro operations will be halted from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm, as part of festival-related safety and operational arrangements.
According to the official announcement, metro services will resume at 3:00 pm and continue as per the regular schedule till 11:00 pm. Authorities stated that the temporary suspension has been planned to ensure passenger safety and smooth coordination with citywide festival activities and crowd movement.
Officials from the metro administration said necessary measures are being taken to manage commuter flow once services restart in the afternoon. Security deployment, station readiness, and operational preparedness will be ensured before reopening services for passengers.
Commuters have been advised to make alternative travel arrangements during the suspension period and plan their journeys accordingly. Public transport systems such as PMPML buses and other local transport services are expected to handle additional passenger load during the morning hours.
Pune Metro authorities expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to daily commuters and festival travelers, appealing for public cooperation. The administration assured citizens that normal services will run smoothly in the evening hours after the temporary closure period ends.
