On September 29, Pune Metro opened its much-anticipated Swargate to District Court route, marking a new chapter in the city’s public transportation system. Passengers, including Rahul Shah and Ankita Shah, were among the first 10 to board the metro, describing the experience as transformative. 

At around 3:50 PM, the metro authorities allowed citizens to enter the Swargate Metro Station. Rahul Shah, a resident of Marketyard area shared that he had booked his tickets online through the Metro’s WhatsApp integration system, which worked smoothly. The station was beautifully decorated with flowers, showcasing a high standard of cleanliness. Passengers were welcomed by standees and flyers, including “Welcome to Swargate Metro” messages, and the red carpet added a touch of elegance to the experience.

The metro commenced its journey precisely at 4:00 PM, reaching Mandai Station at 4:02 PM, Kasba Station at 4:05 PM, and Civil Court Station by 4:10 PM. The seamless journey highlighted the efficiency of the metro system, promising to drastically reduce travel time and eliminate traffic issues. Commuters can now avoid the hassle of signals, overtaking, lane cutting, and road nuisances like horns. With weatherproof travel and reduced traffic congestion, the Swargate to District Court metro route is poised to revolutionize transportation in Pune.
