Pune: Mohammadwadi Residents Demand Action Against Bar On NIBM Annexe Road Over Late-Night Disturbances
Pune, May 12, 2026: Residents of Elina Living Society and nearby residential complexes on NIBM Annexe Road in Mohammadwadi have approached the State Excise Department and other authorities, seeking immediate action against the operation of “Highland Bar,” alleging that the establishment is causing persistent nuisance and safety concerns in the area.
The complaint, submitted by resident Jaymala Dhankikar on behalf of local residents, has also been sent to the Pune City Police Commissioner, District Collector, and other civic authorities.
According to the complaint, the bar is located near the entrance of Elina Living Society and close to residential projects including Cloud 9 and Nine Hills. Residents alleged that the area frequently witnesses late-night disturbances, illegal parking, public intoxication, and disorderly behaviour by customers visiting the establishment.
They claimed that groups of intoxicated individuals often gather outside residential gates late at night, leading to shouting, arguments, and the use of abusive language, creating an atmosphere of fear and discomfort among residents.
Locals have expressed concern over the safety of women, children, and senior citizens, stating that the repeated disturbances have affected the peaceful environment of the neighbourhood. They have urged authorities to take strict action and restore law and order in the residential locality.
