Residents of Mohammadwadi & Undri have taken a stand, appealing to MLA Sanjay Jagtap for the much-needed development of water and sewage infrastructure in their neighborhoods. Despite years of neglect from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), they’re demanding immediate action to address their basic needs. The residents of Undri are without any development project as the DPR of the newly merged villages is yet to be made.

The residents, Renuka Suryavanshi, Suniel Iyer, Sanjiv Chimnani handed over a letter on behalf of Mohammadwadi Undri Residents Forum to Purandar constituency MLA Sanjay Jagtap in Undri.

For over a decade, Mohammadwadi and Undri have been grappling with insufficient water pipelines, sewage systems, and deteriorating road conditions. This neglect has forced residents to rely on costly and unreliable water tankers while enduring substandard living conditions due to the absence of proper sanitation facilities.

In their plea, residents highlighted the urgent need for the construction of a water tank atop the Hilltop, along with the initiation and completion of water and sewage pipeline projects. They emphasized the critical importance of uninterrupted access to clean water and adequate sanitation for the well-being of the community.

Moreover, the deplorable state of road infrastructure has compounded daily challenges for residents, leading to frequent vehicular damage and safety hazards. Narrow roads and congestion have become commonplace, further adding to the plight of commuters.

Expressing their frustration as responsible taxpayers, residents urged the PMC to prioritize their welfare and swiftly address these longstanding issues. They called for the allocation of resources and funds to rehabilitate and enhance the local road infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient transportation for all.

In response to the residents’ plea, MLA Sanjay Jagtap assured them that Mohammadwadi and Undri are included in the 24×7 Jal Scheme, with plans already in place to commence work on water main pipes and internal water layouts within the next few months. However, residents remain vigilant, stressing the importance of timely action to alleviate their suffering and uphold principles of justice and equity.

As Mohammadwadi and Undri residents continue to advocate for their rights, they hope that their plea will not only bring relief to thousands but also serve as a reminder of the government’s duty to prioritize the well-being of its citizens.
