Pune: Power Outages for Prolonged Time in Dhanori Irks Citizens

Pune: The celebration of Ganeshotsav concluded smoothly without any disruption in the smooth power supply and power security under the Pune circle of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). 

On Thursday from 9 a.m. Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar, with around 4,575 engineers and technical staff performed their duty continuously for 24 hours for the safety of lakhs of devotees. Also, it provided uninterrupted service for smooth power supply braving rains and other obstacles.

Rajendra Pawar, Chief Engineer, MSEDCL Pune said, “All the staff as well as devotees and mandals co-operated to make sure that there was no interruption in the electricity supply. The Ganeshotsav concluded without a hitch in terms of power safety as everyone remained alert and took utmost precautions. We are also satisfied that all the engineers and technical staff of Mahavitaran have performed well in providing smooth power supply and security.”

As per further information by Mahavitaran, Ganeshotsav, which is a joyous festival for Pune residents, became festive for the first time after three years due to COVID-19 restrictions. IDuring this festival, in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad as well as Mulshi, Velhe, Haveli, Ambegaon, Junnar, Khed and Maval talukas under the Pune circle of MSEDCL were prepared to provide smooth power supply and power security. 

Thereafter, immersion processions started at various places on Thursday morning. Pawar had directed all the senior officials along with the concerned employees to remain ‘on duty’ full time and update the status of the power supply and other information every hour till the immersion of Ganesha idols in large circles and processions are completed.

Pawar along with Superintending Engineer Arvind Bulbule, Yuvraj Jarag, and Sanjeev Rathod along with Executive Engineers of all 12 Divisions, 41 Sub Divisions and 168 Branch Office Chief Engineers as well as technical regular and outsourced staff were ready and worked tirelessly on the procession route and Visarjan Ghat in their respective jurisdictions. 

A temporary control room was set up on Lakshmi Road. Coordination with all other government departments was done in this room. In urban and rural areas, immersion processions of most of the Ganesha mandals ended around 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Even after that, all senior engineers were performing ‘on-field’ duty till 9 am.
