The Tax Assessment and Collection Department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has reported a collection of ₹9,00,22,612 in property tax arrears between December 2 and December 4, 2024.

As part of its efforts to achieve the revenue targets for the financial year 2024-25, the department intensified its focus on recovering outstanding dues. Special recovery teams, including band squads, were formed to expedite the process.

These teams conducted operations across 15 regional offices, visiting 154 properties with pending dues. In addition to recovering the aforementioned amount, 19 properties were sealed during the drive.

The PMC has approximately 14.8 lakh properties under its jurisdiction, out of which 8.73 lakh property owners have paid a total of ₹1,798 crore in taxes so far. The remaining defaulters will face further recovery actions in the coming months.

The PMC urges property owners who have not yet cleared their dues to make payments promptly to avoid penalties or legal actions, informed Madhav Jagtap, head, Tax Assessment and Collection Department, PMC.
