Pune Municipal Corporation’s fire station in Mohamadwadi remains incomplete due to structural and civil work
The Pune Municipal Corporation ‘s Late Gulab Baburao Ghule near Fire station Krishna Nagar, Mohamadwadi stands tall but without being operational. The civic body has failed to start the operations at the fire station.
With the increasing development around Mohamadwadi, Undri, Pisoli, Wadachi Wadi and Handewadi, this could probably be the nearest one for the area. At present, the nearest fire station is in Kondhwa Budruk, Kondhwa Khurd and Kalepadal, Hadapsar. If this fire station comes up in the area, it would help in reaching faster to attend any incident.
Pramod Bhangire, former local corporator and president, Shivsena Shinde faction told Pune Pulse that the structure is not complete due to some technical issues. The approach Road to the fire station shall be completed soon which needs resurfacing.
When Pune Pulse spoke to Devendra Potphode, Chief fire officer, Fire Brigade department, Pune Municipal Corporation stated that the civil and electrical work at the station is pending. Tender is floated and within two months the work should be complete. The retaining wall around the fire station towards the nala side shall also be built. Alternate fire station near Kalepadal is functional and we are attending all complaints through this Kalepadal station at present.
