Pune: NCP-BJP Clash Over Delay In Sinhagad Road Flyover Opening
In a recent dispute between the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Nationalist Congress Party-Sharad Pawar faction (NCP-SP), the inauguration of a new flyover on Sinhagad Road has become a flashpoint.
On Thursday, NCP workers staged protests demanding the immediate opening of the flyover near Rajaram Bridge, claiming it is complete and ready for vehicular traffic. The NCP accuses the BJP of postponing the inauguration due to the unavailability of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

In response, BJP MLA Madhuri Misal dismissed these allegations, stating that the NCP is fabricating stories. Misal explained that the third layer of the flyover is still under construction, and therefore, traffic movement is currently restricted. However, she assured that the flyover would be open to the public by next week.
NCP city unit president Prashant Jagtap and leader Ashwini Kadam participated in the protests, with Kadam criticizing the BJP for delaying the flyover’s opening and causing inconvenience to citizens caught in traffic jams due to the ongoing rains.
Misal countered Kadam’s statements by accusing the NCP of attempting to take undue credit for the BJP’s development efforts.
