Pune, February 28, 2025: To enhance power supply and customer service, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has created a new Hinjewadi sub-division by dividing the Sangvi sub-division in the Pimpri division. Additionally, four new branch offices have been approved in Pimple Gurav, Pimple Nilakh, Wakad, and Hinjawadi MIDC. A total of 88 new technical and non-technical posts have been sanctioned for these offices.

Previously, the Sangvi sub-division had three branches: Sangvi, Tathawade, and Hinjewadi. Due to the growing electricity demand in Pune’s IT hub, Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar proposed the division of Sangvi and the establishment of the new Hinjewadi sub-division, which has now been approved.

After the restructuring, Sangvi sub-division will have four branch offices, while Hinjewadi sub-division will have three. The Sangvi sub-division will serve 1.4 lakh consumers, while Hinjewadi will cater to 1.16 lakh.
