Pune News: 12,000 MSEDCL Consumers In Chakan Hit By Power Outage For Three Hours Due To Fault In TransformerÂ
Pune, September 23, 2024: Due to a malfunction in the interconnecting transformer at the 220 kV Alephata Extra High Voltage (EHV) Substation of Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL), power supply to 12,000 consumers in the Chakan area was disrupted for three hours on Monday (Sept 23) morning. However, MSETCL quickly implemented emergency measures and restored the supply through an alternative arrangement from the 220 kV Chinchwad Substation.
The affected areas included Waki, Biradwadi, Rohkal, Kadachi Wadi, Rase, Rahanubai Mala, and Medankarwadi, which receive electricity via the Ambethan and Volkswagen 22 kV feeders. At around 8:15 AM on Monday, power was cut to approximately 12,000 domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers due to the transformer malfunction. Upon identifying the issue, MSETCL promptly took technical measures to restore power through an alternative supply. By 11:15 AM, power supply was restored through the 220 kV Chinchwad Substation, providing electricity to the affected Ambethan and Volkswagen feeders. Meanwhile, work to replace the faulty interconnecting transformer is underway.
