In response to persistent concerns raised by Siddharth Shirole, the MLA representing Shivajinagar, during a recent meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar at the Government Rest House in Pune, a proactive decision has been taken to address the escalating traffic issues along Ganeshkhind road. The primary cause of the congestion is attributed to the construction of the Pune Metro Line 3’s double-decker flyover.

Taking charge of the situation, Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar convened discussions with key authorities and emerged with a practical solution. The internal route of Agricultural College, spanning from Mhasoba gate to Sinchan Nagar (Bhosalenagar), is set to be opened in an effort to divert traffic and mitigate the impact of ongoing construction.

Speaking on the matter, Siddharth Shirole stated, “In our continuous endeavors to alleviate traffic woes on Pune University Road, a significant decision was reached in a meeting with Pune Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar and other senior officials. Preliminary approval has been granted to open the internal road of Agricultural College from Mhasoba gate to Sinchan Nagar (Bhosalenagar) between 7 am and 10.30 pm.”

Elaborating on the anticipated benefits, Shirole highlighted, “The newly accessible road will offer a convenient route for commuters traveling from Deccan, FC Road to Bhosalenagar, Khadki, Bopodi, and Aundh. It is anticipated that this alternative road will substantially reduce travel time and alleviate congestion issues around Pune University Circle. This strategic move reflects a collaborative effort to enhance the overall commuting experience for the residents of Pune.”
