Pune News : Bharati Vidyapeeth Traffic Police Takes Action Against 23 School Students For Driving Recklessly

Pune: Taking strict action against students for violating traffic rules, the Bharati Vidyapeeth Traffic Division has started a mission to resolve issues like driving without a license, triple seating, riding without a helmet, and rash driving among school students.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Prashant Kanase, Assistant Police Inspector, Bharti Vidyapeeth Traffic Division said, “We have started a traffic awareness campaign in various schools and high schools in the Bharti Vidyapeeth area where we go and explain the students about traffic rules, driving illegally, care to be taken driving & much more. Along with that, we have taken action against 23 school students for driving without a license, without wearing a helmet, rash driving and more on Friday.”

Kanase further added that the traffic police are not arresting/detaining the students but calling their parents and taking fines mentioned in the rules. On Friday, the traffic police collected a fine of Rs 79,000 from areas like Dattanagar Chowk, Bharti Vidyapeeth Chowk, Katraj Chowk, Trimurti Chowk, Sarhad Chowk and more.

Kanse also emphasized the need for caution among students, teachers, and parents, particularly when minors are riding two-wheelers. He urged them to actively participate in promoting responsible road behaviour among young riders.
