Pune: The brutal attack by pack of dogs on a 6 year old child in Bramha Suncity society in Wadgaonsheri has shaken the residents.

A society of 1300 flats has over 75 stray dogs causing immense fear among the residents. On February 7, a 6 year old boy attacked severely by a pack of stray dogs from the city. The boy is now in ICU at the Sassoon hospital.

Wadgaon Sheri’s Bramha Suncity, residents will be conducting a Silent March tonight at 10 PM from MPH, demanding removal of the stray dogs from society’s premises.

“We don’t want these dogs, there are around 80 dogs in our society. We want peace of our mind as they keep barking at night for 6-7 hours continuously and we arent able to get proper sleep. Our children are not safe, security is a big concern to our residents now. Although it is being said that the we should learn to live with the animals (dogs) but it is our choice whether we want to live with it or not and we demand that they should be removed from our society,” said Sumit Karnik, a resident of the society.

Another resident of the society concerned about kids safety, Damini Nigam said, “We are conducting this silent march seeking help from the PMC to remove the stray dogs from the society. As we feel our children are unsafe in the society. Also, we are not against any dog feeder but we want that they should feed the strays outside the premises.”
