Pune News : Traffic diversions announced near Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir on Feb 9

On the occasion of Sankashti Chaturthi on Thursday, February 9 seeing the large number of devotees visiting the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati mandir to seek blessings, Pune City Traffic Police has issued traffic diversions to curb congestion in the area. 

The Pune traffic police has issued an advisory about closure of Shivaji Road for heavy vehicles except for PMPML buses and emergency vehicles (police, fire brigade, ambulance) from 6 am till the number of devotees reduces.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pune City (Traffic) Vijaykumar Magar has issued an order stating that all types of heavy vehicles (except PMPML buses) going from S G Barve Chowk to Swargate via Shivaji Road are prohibited. Temporary no-parking / no-halting is also being implemented from Premier Garage Chowk to (Opposite Mangala Theatre) Nagdev Oil Depot Chowk.

Diversion of PMPML buses :

Circular Bus Route at PMC building: There will be a circular traffic route from Premier Garage Chowk, Mangla Theater, turn right to Khude Chowk, turn right to Pune Municipal Court Corner, Premier Garage Chowk.

PMPML buses going towards Swargate via Shivaji Maharaj Road will take a left turn from Premier Garage Chowk from Mangala Theater and take right turn to Khude Chowk, Balgandharva Chowk, take turn to left to reach Khandojibaba Chowk, Alka Talkies Chowk, Tilak Road via Puram Chowk.

Buses going to Pune Station via Shivaji Maharaj Road will take left turn at Premier Garage Chowk and then take left turn from Mangala Theatre, take right to Nationalist Congress Party building, take left at Kumbharves Chowk to reach Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk (Juna Bazaar chowk) and then proceed to your destination.

Buses coming from Kothrud and going to Pune Station via Appa Balwant Chowk will take Bajirao Road and turn right at Gadgil Putla Chowk and proceed to Pune Station via Kumbharves Chowk.

Traffic diversion for 2 wheelers and 4 wheelers : 

Vehicular traffic is diverted for all traffic (except PMPML buses) on the road leading to Mangala Theater by allowing to take left turn from Premier Garage Chowk. 

Alternate Route : The said vehicles will go straight from SG Barve Chowk on Jangli Maharaj Road and turn left at Balangdharv Chowk to the desired destination.

From Jijamata Chowk, alternate route to Swargate : 

1) Jijamata Chowk take left to Phadke Houd Chowk, Devjibaba Chowk, then take right to Hamjekhan Chowk, drive straight to  Maharana Pratap Road or take right to Laxmi Road to drive to Sonya Maruti Chowk and, Belbaug Chowk, then take left turn to Shivaji Road. 

2) From Shivaji pool, take the road to Gadgil statue chowk, turn left to Kumbharves Chowk, Shahir Amar Sheikh Chowk (Juna Bazaar Chowk) and proceed to your destination.

3) From Shivaji Bridge to Phadke Houd Chowk via Gadgil Putla Chowk vehicles are allowed to take a left turn to reach Jijamata Chowk. 

Traffic diverted from Appa Balwant Chowk to Budhwar Chowk. Alternate traffic route is being chalked out : 

All vehicles will drive via Appa Balwant Chowk, Bajirao Road.
