Pune, January 22, 2025: Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister, Chandrakant Patil, has appealed to citizens to remain alert about the possible presence of Bangladeshi infiltrators in their vicinity. Speaking at a public event organized by the Pune Police, he urged people to immediately report any suspicious individuals to the authorities.
Patil highlighted the case of an attack on actor Saif Ali Khan, which involved a Bangladeshi national. He cautioned that even local street vendors and laborers could be infiltrators, urging citizens to act responsibly.
The event saw the return of confiscated valuables worth ₹3.84 crore to 300 complainants. Senior police officials, including Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar, were present.
Patil noted that Pune’s growing population and urban expansion have strained police resources. He assured that the government is working to address this, announcing the addition of 1,000 police personnel to the Pune force soon.
