Pune News: Firefighter Dies of Suspected Heart Attack While Working Out at Chovisawadi Fire Station
31-year-old Rajesh Raut collapsed after feeling uneasy during gym session; colleagues found him unconscious moments later.
Pune: A tragic incident occurred at the Chovisawadi Fire Station in Pimpri-Chinchwad on Tuesday evening, where a young firefighter died after collapsing during a workout session. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh Rambhau Raut (31), a resident of Tanishk Park Society, Charholi.
According to the Dighi Police, the incident took place around 6:30 pm. Raut was exercising in the station’s gym as part of his regular routine when he suddenly began feeling uneasy. Informing his colleagues that he would take a short rest, he went downstairs. However, within minutes, his colleagues found him lying unconscious.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead before treatment could begin. Preliminary investigations suggest that a heart attack may have been the cause of death, though a post-mortem report will confirm the exact reason.
The news of Raut’s sudden demise has left his fellow firefighters and staff deeply shocked and grief-stricken. Police have registered an accidental death report (ADR) and are conducting further inquiries.
