Pune: In a big relief for the citizens, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has laid the foundation stone of storm water line and concrete road from Samvidhan Chowk to Sungress School and from Clover Citadel Corner to Naren Hills Corner was laid which will solve the long pending demand of the residents for better quality of roads.

As per information shared by Prashant Jagtap, former corporator of Wanowrie and Nationalist Congress Party, Pune City President, the work of laying drinking water line was completed in front of Sungrace School in Wanowrie two years ago. After that, the said road continued to deteriorate even after repairing it from time to time, that’s why the financial allocation for this road was finalized from Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar in October 2022 from last year’s budget. It was expected that the concretizing work of this road will begin immediately after the tender process was completed in December 2022. But unfortunately, due to some political interference and chaos of tenders, that tender was cancelled.”

Jagtap further said, ” I consistently met Kumar and Head of Road Department Vijay Kulkarni regarding the road work in the past few months. Now, the tender has floated in the month of April and its work order has also been passed. Also, the work was delayed because the area lacked a storm water line. Now this work will also begin after which the road work will start.”

The work expedited when the Additional Municipal Commissioner Vikas Dhakne, visited the place on June 30, 2023 and sanctioned more funds to connect the storm water line to Samvidhan Chowk along with this road work. Today, the foundation stone of the storm water line and concrete road from Samvidhan Chowk to Sungrace School and from Clover Citadel Corner to Naren Hills Corner was laid. After the completion of this work, the permanent grievances of the local citizens will be solved,Jagtap further said.
