Minister of Forests in Maharashtra Sudhir Mungantiwar will soon hold a meeting with officials of different departments for setting up an “Eco Tourism Park” inspired by Durga Hill, Nigdi, to provide tourism opportunities and amenities for local residents in Dudulgaon, a village in Pimpri-Chinchwad (Charholi) that is part of the smart city development project. The project also includes road improvements within the forest department’s jurisdiction.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Mahesh Landge has spearheaded efforts to promote the ‘Eco-Tourism Park’ and propose road enhancements in Dudulgaon. This proposal was presented to Forest Minister Mungantiwar during the Monsoon session, leading to plans for a dedicated meeting with relevant officials.

MLA Mahesh Landge mentioned that group number 78 and group number 190 comprise a total of  66.85 hectares in the reserved forest area. This area falls within the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and is classified as an Urban Forest according to the working plan.

In the proposed Eco Tourism Park area, a residential corridor with over 100,000 flats has been constructed. To provide a relaxing escape for citizens from the pressures of work, the Eco Park will offer an entertainment zone. Additionally, amenities such as lawns, an amphitheatre, palm carts, light and sound shows, a food court, themed games, special play areas for children, and a pool can be developed in the park, as suggested by MLA Landge.

MLA Mahesh Landge has requested that the forest department facilitate the land transfer or issue a no-objection certificate to the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation administration for the development of the proposed roads in the mentioned areas. This step is crucial to address the challenges faced in Annabhau Sathe Nagar, Dudulgaon, where residents are unable to register their houses due to the lack of infrastructure facilities and the proximity of new societies to the forest department boundary.

The road development projects, including the 18-meter road alongside Veeradura Society and the 24-meter road from Dudulgaon Phata to Charholi in the Dattanagar area, are encountering technical difficulties related to land transfer because of the forest department boundaries. This situation is hindering the progress of road development in various societies like Jai Hind Society, Aradhyam Society, Deorai Society, and Mauli Nagar.

Thus, Landge has demanded that the forest department should provide a land transfer or no objection certificate to the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) administration.
