Pune, January 17, 2025: Minister of State for Home, Yogesh Kadam, clarified on Friday that there was no involvement of any criminal gang in the attack on actor Saif Ali Khan. According to preliminary investigations, the attack was motivated by theft, and one suspect has been detained in connection with the incident.

Kadam made this statement during his visit to the Pune Police Commissionerate, where he chaired a meeting with senior police officials, including Commissioner Amitesh Kumar and Joint Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma. Addressing reporters afterward, Kadam provided updates on the incident that occurred on Thursday in the Bandra area of Mumbai, where an intruder attacked Saif Ali Khan at his residence.

The minister dismissed links between this incident and previous crimes, such as the shooting at actor Salman Khan’s residence and the murder of former MLA Baba Siddiqui, both allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Kadam stated, “The attack on Saif Ali Khan was not the work of a criminal gang. Initial findings suggest it was a theft attempt. CCTV footage shows a suspect, and police have detained one individual for questioning. Efforts are underway to trace others possibly involved.”

Lapses in Security at Saif’s Residence
Kadam noted a lack of security guards at Saif Ali Khan’s apartment complex. The police inspected the site and identified shortcomings in security arrangements. Investigations are ongoing, and efforts to locate other suspects continue.
