Pune News: Over 450 Litres Of Illicit Liquor Seized By Wanawadi Police; One Arrested
Pune police seized 450 liters of illicit liquor during a patrol in Gosavi Vasti under the jurisdiction of Suraksha nagar Police Chowki on the occasion of Ramzan Eid. The operation was conducted under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Satyajit Adamane and Crime Inspector Govind Jadhav.

During the patrol, a team comprising PSI Avinash Shinde, ASI Kishor Rane, Women Police Constables Takawale and Mangala Pardhi, along with Marshals PC Mahesh Mane and PC Akash Sonapsare, intercepted a suspect Somnath Kamble, a resident of Birajdar Nagar, Hadapsar, Pune. Upon searching his possession, the officers discovered 12 cans containing a total of 450 liters of illicit country-made liquor, valued at ₹45,000.
Following the seizure, a case has been registered, and further investigation is underway. The operation highlights the police’s efforts to curb illegal activities and maintain law and order during festive occasions.
Senior Police Inspector Satyajit Adamane of Wanwadi Police Station confirmed the incident and assured strict action against illicit liquor trade in the city.
